In Ryan’s Crossing, Ryan arrives in Crossing, Oregon, a couple weeks before his sister’s wedding. Even though his vacation time started several days earlier, he purposely waits to travel to see his family. Ever been there?
Ryan’s main issue is his Dad. A family tragedy when Ryan was very young sent his family into a downward spiral. When his Dad finally hit rock bottom and began to crawl out of his despair, Ryan’s older sister Amber was gone. His Dad then became obsessed with finding her.
Ryan always felt second place to her and never wanted to help in the search for her, which frustrated his Dad. Can you imagine the stress in this family? One man running into multiple dead ends in the search for his daughter; one young man trying to grow up and fighting the emotions of feeling left behind by his sister and feeling less than good enough in his father’s heart.
But when Ryan arrives in Crossing, things are different. And that catches him off guard and propels the story into a very different ending than Ryan was imagining.
