God and Satan are Not Yin and Yang

I realized something today. I frequently forget God and Satan are not equal. Now that doesn’t mean that I’ve ever thought that they are just opposite sides of a coin.

I know God is supreme. I know God is ruler. I know in the end that God will win.

But Satan has so much control over so many things that my mind often elevates him into something bigger than he is. Like he’s the yin to God’s yang, opposite but equal.

But he’s not.

He’s just another created being, just an angel with limitations like every other angel.

Limitations. Given by God. The Creator.

Do you ever think of Satan as bigger than he really is?

  1. I like the idea that Satan is not the equal opposite of God but instead is the absence of God. Our acceptance of God fills up the hole where Satan was.

While I’ll agree that Hell is and will be a place where God is absent, it sounds like delegating Satan to the mere absence of God turns him into a not-real being. Yet the Bible is clear that Satan is not only real, but he’s out to accuse and defeat God’s children.
