Ordinary but Extraordinary

When you think of Jesus, what comes to mind? Miracle worker? Savior? Sacrificial lamb? Great teacher? What about ordinary?

Because He was.

He was so ordinary, that his cousin, John the baptist, didn’t know He was the Messiah until Jesus was baptized. (John 1:32-34)

He was so ordinary that his hometown couldn’t believe he was special. (Luke 4:20-24)

He was so ordinary that He melted into crowds. (John 5:1-13)

Yet one man, completely connected to His Father in Heaven was extraordinary.

He healed and blessed, taught and redeemed. He changed the world.

Yes, He was Jesus. But He said, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)

You may feel ordinary, but you can be extraordinary.

What holds you back?

Carrie, I love your blog! So direct and to the point! There are many days that I feel ordinary and insignificant. Thank you so much for reminding me how extraordinary I am through Christ!

Carrie, you are no ordinary writer! Thank you for blessing my life with your gift from God.

Awwww. Thank you, Kaaren for the encouragement! It’s great to meet another “ordinary” woman who is enabled to do extraordinary things. Some days we all need that reminder!
