Scars

Ugliness. Scars represent a lot of things. Pain. Scars remind us of fears. Failures. Poor choices. Shame. Sometimes they remind of us of what was done to us. Inflicted upon us. Skeletons in the closet.

But I want to encourage you to look at them differently. Look at your scars–the physical, the emotional, the psychological–through eyes of faith. With God’s help, look at your scars through His eyes.

I love this song by Mandisa. If you’ve never considered this perspective before, can you take a baby step of faith and look for God in the midst of your pain? Do you see Him?

I believe He means to bring beauty from the ash piles of your life, even those places you want to forget about, those places you don’t admit to anyone exist. God has a greater plan. Can you trust it?
