Reintegration

Another Book Releases!

Exciting news! Reintegration, the second book in the Beyond Warrior’s Bride series, is NOW AVAILABLE!

ReintegrationThe first book in this series, Your Extended Family, is available here for Kindle and here for Nook. It talks about dealing with family members outside your marriage and children, like your parents and siblings. Whether you live geographically close to them or on the other side of the world, it has some great tips for establishing good boundaries. I also offer some ideas for dealing with loneliness and medical appointments if you live far away from family.

In this second book, Reintegration, Kathy joins me to talk about setting up your family for success before, during, and after deployments. We discuss the mindset of the deploying member, and how you can best prepare for homecoming.… Want to read more?

More than we can handle

More Than I Can Handle

How many of you grew up hearing that God won't give you more than you can handle? I did! Even Mother Teresa said, "I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. I just wish God wouldn't trust me so much." Is this concept really biblical?

Disagreements in Parenting

Do you parent with your husband, or against your husband? Or do you feel like he parents against you? Hmm ... tough questions, but I wonder if most couples don't wrestle through this on some level. Would you like some help?

Safeguarding Your Marriage

Infidelity. It's a tricky topic that not many want to really talk about within their own marriage. Some are so convinced that their spouse could never cheat, they never bother to safeguard their marriage and sometimes stumble into it. Others are so hurt from previous behaviors (their spouse or other people) that they see infidelity everywhere, even if it's not really occurring.

Living with a Wounded Soul

Do you or a friend live with a wounded warrior? This phrase has become somewhat common place within the military community, although its application is very broad. The following is an excerpt from The Warrior's Bride in which I share a little of our journey when I began to see a decline in my husband after his deployment to Saudi Arabia in early 2001.

Right Seed, Right Fruit

As many of you know, later this year I will be releasing a nonfiction book titled The Warrior's Bride: Biblical Strategies for Helping the Military Spouse Thrive. I was blessed to be able to co-author this work with Kathy Barnett. You may remember the blog post from about a month ago where I told the story of how it all began. (If not, you can read it here.)
