Exciting news! Banishing Felipe, the third book in the Sacred Trust series, is NOW AVAILABLE on Kindle!
If you’ve missed any of the books in this series, you’ll want to start from the beginning.
This is the series that first introduced the characters of Silver Heights. No, you don’t have to go back and read this series, but if you want all the details about this town then you’ll want to start here.
Inspector Cassandra McCarthy never thought she’d be raising her two daughters alone, but her husband’s unexpected death forced her to find a career. Now working beside a retired Special Operations soldier and veteran fireman, she serves her small North Carolina town, protecting them from hazards they don’t understand. She loves what she does and trusts God to provide—until a hurricane and a series of unexplained fires hit too close to home. What will it cost Cassandra to protect the citizens of Silver Heights?
She’s missing. No one knows why. Seventeen-year-old Isabel Moreno fights with her grandfather about going to a friend’s house to study. The next morning, she’s gone, an honor roll student well liked by everyone. No one knows of trouble at home or at school. Friends are upset, and the family is distraught. What happened?
Detective Samuel Campos is assigned to the case. Every person he talks to seems sincere, but good kids don’t just disappear. As he struggles through the never-ending questions surrounding Isabel, God talks to him in a way he’s never experienced before. Or is his mind making up things to camouflage the disturbing lack of evidence?
He’s skirting the edge of trouble, but apparently steering clear of it. Fifteen-year-old Benjamin Torres is known around town thanks to his dog, which everyone gives a wide berth. Still, the teen was spotted at the scene of an accidental fire, so questions about his involvement circle the case file.
God presses Detective Samuel Campos to get involved. He’s arrested too many teens in the last six months to sit idly by, but he’s uncertain that his plan is viable or will be allowed by his superiors. As he works to know Benjamin and his family, more questions about the fire come to light. Maybe it wasn’t accidental after all.
And now . . . Banishing Felipe
A war wages for the kids of Silver Heights, and he won’t stand for it.
After arresting two teens for arson last fall and finding the body of a missing girl in the spring, Detective Samuel Campos determines to do more to protect the local kids. When he begins to hear rumors about a man called Felipe, his curiosity is piqued. He senses there is more to the story than is being told.
But, is this a master criminal manipulating kids or a clever alias for local trouble?
Sam digs in, asking questions and pulling evidence from cold cases. However, the more he discovers, the more questions he creates. Even if he can track him down, too much about his case against Felipe is circumstantial. Sam is uncertain how to proceed—until his own children are threatened.
