Many of you are already fans of my Embers series. (If you haven’t read any of those books, you may want to start here.)
Now, I introduce you to my Sacred Trust series, the books that follow Embers and gives more insight into one of its characters, Detective Samuel Campos.
Today, the first book is available on Amazon!
She’s missing. No one knows why.
Seventeen-year-old Isabel Moreno fights with her grandfather about going to a friend’s house to study. The next morning, she’s gone, an honor roll student well liked by everyone. No one knows of trouble at home or at school. Friends are upset, and the family is distraught. What happened?
Detective Samuel Campos is assigned to the case.
Every person he talks to seems sincere, but good kids don’t just disappear. As he struggles through the never-ending questions surrounding Isabel, God talks to him in a way he’s never experienced before. Or is his mind making up things to camouflage the disturbing lack of evidence?
A Little More about Sacred Trust: Seeking Isabel
You don’t think we serve a crazy God? I mean, really, who tells His followers to build a boat in the desert? ~Carrie Daws, Seeking Isabel
The Embers series was a lot of fun to research and to write. So far, Sacred Trust is proving just as much fun, even though some of the topics are not easy to read about, much less write about. Oh, some of the research I mustered through was enough to turn my stomach and convince me once again that I’m really not made for anything in the medical field.
I love these characters and am so thankful to all the first responders, police officers, and families that have taken the time to talk to me and let me glimpse into their lives.
And I enjoyed looking at how God speaks to people through this first book. Consider that He might sometimes change tactics on us. And wrestle through the feelings of foolishness that can make us hesitate when we need to boldly press onward.
The Plan for the Rest of the Sacred Trust Series
We make our plans, but the Lord decides where we will go. ~Proverbs 16:9, Contemporary English Version, guiding verse for Seeking Isabel
Two more books will follow Seeking Isabel over the next few months. The current plan is to release the second book, Finding Benjamin, in early December, and release the third book, Banishing Felipe, in early March. I know you will be anxious to finish the story that I start in Seeking Isabel.
(I know you will be anxious to finish the story that I start in Seeking Isabel. I’m working on it, I promise! Book 2 is already with my editor!)
Like the Embers series, each book will initially release on Kindle only. Once the third book is available on Kindle, my assistant and I will work on getting the combination book (all three novelettes in one convenient package) ready for sale: in paperback through Amazon as well as the eBook on both Kindle and Kobo.
(We’re also working toward iBooks! So pray for us as we learn another platform.)

Seeking Isabel is currently available on Amazon in eBook only. It’s a short book, so a quick read. But the lessons contained within it are worth considering yourself. How does God speak to you? Has He ever changed how He makes Himself clear? How comfortable is that to admit in the moment, especially in the company of those who may not agree with your faith?
